Is Sulfasalazine Delayed-Release Used for Children?

Sulfasalazine delayed-release is approved for use in treating ulcerative colitis and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children who are at least six years old. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using the drug in children.
 

Off-Label Uses for Sulfasalazine Delayed-Release

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend sulfasalazine delayed-release for something other than the conditions listed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, using the medication to treat Crohn's disease is considered an off-label use.
