Lialda for Ulcerative Colitis

People with ulcerative colitis may take Lialda® (mesalamine), a prescription drug that works to treat this condition by inhibiting the action of certain chemicals in the lining of the colon that lead to inflammation. This medication comes in tablet form and is taken by mouth. In addition to medications like Lialda, ulcerative colitis can be treated with lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, or a combination of these things.
