Entocort Drug Interactions

If certain medications are taken with Entocort EC, drug interactions may occur. If Entocort EC is combined with certain antibiotics or antifungals, for example, it could increase the amount of Entocort EC in your blood (possibly increasing your risk of side effects). You should also not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking Entocort EC, as this interaction can greatly increase the amount of Entocort EC in your blood.

 

Entocort Drug Interactions: An Introduction

Entocort® EC (budesonide EC) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to Entocort EC interactions include:
 
  • Certain antibiotics or antifungals, including:

 

    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
    • Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Miconazole
    • Telithromycin (Ketek®)

 

  • Grapefruit and grapefruit juice
  • Some protease inhibitors, such as:
