Dipentum Dosage

When prescribing your Dipentum dose, your healthcare provider will take certain factors into account, such as other medications you may be taking. The drug comes in capsule form, and is typically taken twice a day. Dipentum dosage guidelines often call for 500 mg, and you should take it at the same times each day to maintain even levels of the medication in your blood.

An Introduction to Dipentum Dosage

The dose of Dipentum® (olsalazine sodium) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
 
  • Other medical conditions you may have
  • Other medications you may be currently taking.
     
As always, do not adjust your Dipentum dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
 

Dipentum Dosing for Adults

The recommended Dipentum dose for adults with ulcerative colitis is Dipentum 500 mg (two Dipentum 250 mg capsules), taken twice daily.
 

General Dipentum Dosage Information

Some considerations for people taking Dipentum include:
 
  • The medication comes in capsule form. It is usually taken by mouth twice daily.
     
  • Dipentum should be taken with food.
     
  • Take Dipentum at the same times each day to maintain even levels of the drug in your blood.
     
  • For Dipentum to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. The drug will not work if you stop taking it.
     
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or Dipentum dosing in general, talk with your healthcare provider, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking the drug without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.
